The Bonnie Lloyd Story In her own words
I had KP when I was pregnant with my son who is now almost 12. I saw a real dr twice when I first got pregnant & then had a Nurse Practitioner until I was in my 8th month. I had never seen the dr that delivered Russ until the day he was born. Five days after he was born, I had a terrible re-ocurring pain in my left side.
We went to the after-care facility & sat there 10 hours before being seen by a dr. ( It was one of those drs in training)
Diagnosis-pulled muscle from child birth. It hurt for 4 more days & stopped. Then I went through 3 1/2 years of pain. Within 6 months after giving birth, I started having abdominal pain. After going to the dr.s a couple of times, & seeing a different dr each time, the 3rd one said that my problem was that I neede to get a job. (I was a stay at home mom who cleaned houses, sewed for the public & baby sat kids after school)
I never went back to them again & sufferred for 1 1/2 years more until getting on a different insurance.
The good drs found a mass of adhesions in my abdomen growing out from my appendix & attaching itself to all of my lower organs. I had to have laser surgery to have them removed. During the same time of all of this pain, I developed Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which will be with me the rest of my life. After surgery, I could not get pregnant again.
Diagnosis- Mis-diagnosed appendicitis. I HATE KAISER PERMANENTE!
